Description

The PC-09 Zoaf Iranian 9mm Pistol is an Iranian-made, unlicensed copy of the SIG Sauer P226, chambered in 9×19 mm and used as a standard sidearm by elements of the Iranian Army, police, and selected security forces. It is mechanically and externally very close to the SIG Sauer P226, effectively an unlicensed clone adapted to Iranian manufacturing methods. The pistol uses a short-recoil, locked-breech, DA/SA system in line with the original P226 layout. The PC-9 Zoaf is listed as a 9 mm service pistol of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army and appears as the standard or common issue sidearm in several ORBAT-style equipment lists. Reporting on captured weapons and proliferation shows PC-9s turning up with groups linked to Iranian support networks (Hamas, Hizballah, Al‑Qaeda, ISIS and others).
