M2 Bradley
M2 Bradley

The armored, fully tracked M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle was designed to provide mobile protected transport to an infantry squad within the battlefield. In addition the M2 also provides fire support to dismounted troops and anti-tank/anti-bunker capability through its two turret mounted TOW missiles. The Bradley fighting vehicle family is powered by a single turbo-diesel engine rated at 600-hp. It features high mobility, amphibious capability, and a maximum road speed of 72 km/h. The Bradley also has improved armor, mobility and survivability than its predecessor the M113. Typically the Bradley armored vehicles complement the Abrams main battle tanks. The M2 Bradley turret-mounted armament consists of a M242 25mm Bushmaster gun, a M240C 7.62mm machine gun and two TOW anti-tank missiles mounted in the turret left side arm. The M242 gun has a maximum range of 2,000 meters and can fire different ammunition specially developed for every mission profile. Typically, the Bushmaster gun fires 25mm M793 cartridges and M793 TP-T (target practice-traced) and M910TPDS-T (target practice discarding sabot-traced) cartridges. The TOW missile provides an engagement range of about 4 kilometers against armored vehicles and fortifications.
