Description
The T112 Taiwanese 5.56mm Assault Rifle is a Taiwanese AR-15–style rifle produced by the 205th Armory. It is intended to replace the T91 assault rifle. The new rifle will augment and replace the current 5.56x45mm T91 carbine, which entered service in 2003. Like the T91, and the T65 before it, the T112 is a gas-operated weapon with a rotating bolt. Development reportedly began in 2020 at Taiwan’s 205th Arsenal of the Armaments Bureau which specialises in small arms development.

Sights
The rifle is also equipped with XTS112 aiming laser and XTS112 close-in fight sight.
The XTS112 aiming laser is an illuminator with a remote-control switch and a laser pointer. It also features a zoom function. The addition of a laser pointer allows the shooter to aim quickly and accurately at targets during both day and night operations, according to the bureau.
Accessories
The rifle was ordered alongside a series of supporting accessories including a close combat red dot sight, 1-4x magnified optic, laser illuminator, and flashlight.

The T112 offers shooting modes comprising single shot, two consecutive shots, and fully automatic, departing from the three-shot burst capability of its predecessors.
Note #2
The new T112 is ambidextrous and has a fire control group with a selector with settings for safe, semi, two-round burst and fully automatic.
