Description
The COMSAT NG is a new communications satellite constellation being developed for the French Armed Forces as the replacement for the Syracuse III telecommunications satellites. The French Ministry of Defense expects the first of two satellites operating in the Ka band to go operational from 2021. Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space, as lead contractor, were selected in December 2015 to build two COMSAT NG spacecraft.
