Description

The FILA (Fighting Intruders at Low Altitude) is a trailer-mounted battlefield radar system designed for low-altitude anti-aircraft defense. Operating in the X-band (8,600–9,500 MHz), also known as the I-band, it functions as a fire control unit, incorporating a laser rangefinder, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system, and a TV camera. With an instrumented range of 25 km and an antenna rotation of 60 rpm, the FILA can guide 35mm and 40mm anti-aircraft cannons or surface-to-air missiles for point defense against multiple targets. An upgraded version, the EDT-FILA, includes an additional K-band tracking radar. The system, a replica of the Oerlikon-Contraves Skyguard, has been supplied to the Brazilian army (12 units) and exported to the Middle East.
