Description
The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) is an underwater vehicle designed to transport personnel to conflict areas having longer endurance and can operate at greater depths than existing Swimmer Delivery Vehicles (SDV). These 30-ton vehicles are released by surface ships and travel underwater with the personnel sealed from the environment. In July 2016 the USSOCOM awarded Lockheed Martin and Submergence Group LLC a $166 million contract to build three DCS vehicles over the following five years.
