Description

The Arman is a mobile, ground-based, medium range, high altitude air defense system developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran and unveiled in February 2024. The weapon system is intended to counter fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, ballistic and cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, gliding bombs and other emerging threats. The Arman radar system allows to track up to 24 targets at up to 180-to-200 kilometers providing 360-degree coverage while engaging up to six of them. The system is based upon a single 8x8 truck system carrying the radar system and three Sayad 3F surface-to-air missiles. The Arman air defense system can be set up in three minutes and react to a potential threat in 20 seconds. The Arman air defense system became operational with the armed forces of Iran in August 2024.
