Description

The Omniradar RIC60A, an experimental V-band FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave) radar, operates on a single 7x7 mm chip. Manufactured by Staal Technologies (formerly Omniradar), it features integrated antennas, one transmitter, and two independent receivers, enabling high-precision distance and Doppler frequency measurements, as well as direction determination of reflecting objects using the monopulse technique. With a 7 GHz transmitter bandwidth within its 57-64 GHz operating frequency, the RIC60A achieves a range resolution of 21 mm and an accuracy of 2 mm over an instrumented range of 5 meters, offering enhanced position and speed accuracy compared to similar products. Configurable via an SPI interface, it is suitable for various applications including ranging, velocity detection, imaging, and advanced motion sensing, and is supported by a development kit with a USB interface board and MATLAB scripts.
