Description

The ThalesRaytheonSystems TRS 2620 “Gerfaut” is a modular, solid-state, short-range battlefield primary surveillance radar operating in the S-band. It is designed for surveillance, early warning, target acquisition, and target designation, primarily for Short-Range Air Defense Systems (SHORADS) and Very Short-Range Air Defense Systems (VSHORADS). The radar features a truncated parabolic reflector antenna with an integrated Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) antenna, and its modularity allows for installation on various vehicle types. A variant, the TRS 2630, shares the same core system but incorporates a larger planar-array antenna, extending its detection range to 30 km and enhancing its electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM) capabilities.
