Masaf-2 Iranian 7.62mm Battle Rifle

The Masaf-2 Iranian 7.62mm Battle Rifle is a gas-operated, select-fire weapon based on the American AR-10 platform. While the rifle's design draws comparisons to several Western platforms, it most closely resembles the German HK416/HK417 series, which Iran appears to have reverse-engineered. The operating mechanism employs a short-stroke gas piston system with a manual gas regulator, departing from the direct impingement system of the original AR-10. The modular design allows the rifle to be configured as a sniper rifle or carbine variant without specialized tools.
