Description
The Fizik-1 is a 533mm heavyweight torpedo designed for use by the Russian Navy surface ships and submarines replacing the USET-80 torpedo. The Fizik-1 homing torpedo is intended to engage surface and underwater targets in deep water and features broader range, increased warhead and improved homing system. The torpedo range is 50,000 meters carrying a 300 kg warhead and powered by a new engine burning a specially designed fuel instead of oxygen and water. As of June 2016 the Russian Navy was re-arming its submarines with this new weapon.
