Description

The Nagastra-1 is a kamikaze drone developed and manufactured by Solar Industries of India. The Nagastra-1 is powered by an electric engine and is equipped with an electro-optical sensor for operations in day/night conditions as well as a fragmentation warhead to take out soft-skin targets. The drone has a maximum range of 30 kilometers operating autonomously or only 15 kilometers with a man-on-the-loop staying airborne no more than 60 minutes. The navigation system relies on the GPS and can hit a target with an accuracy of two meters. The Nagastra-1 is equipped with a parachute allowing to be recovered and reused if no target was found. The Indian Ministry of Defense placed an initial order for 450 such drones worth $25 million in April 2023.
