Description

The Astros Hawk is a light multiple launch rocket system developed by Avibras Aeroespacial to provide artillery fire support for light forces using technology and the expertise acquired with the larger Astros II rocket artillery system. The Astros Hawk multi-caliber rocket launched can be installed on a variety of high mobility 4x4 chassis such as AV-BL and utilizes a variety of ammunitions compatible with the Astros II artillery system. The system can place a high volume of fire in a very short period of time, at ranges up to 12 kilometers using Skyfire-70 unguided rockets. The launchers are designed to operate at battery or battalion level, and have means of navigation and communication. The calculation of the firing data is performed with the use of the Battery Command and Control Vehicle. Having a reduced crew and simplified logistics support requirements, the Astros Hawk is a more powerful replacement for 105mm howitzers or any other means of fire support for light forces.
